Well, it's a beautiful day today!! Sunny and windy at the same time. It's a blessing after days of rain..Here is the first shot I took for the day. This is Shuhada, my niece. She just woke up and we bring her out in the yard to enjoy the sun :)

Chilly Genting Highlands

My colleagues and I went to Genting Highlands for our weekend getaway and took a cable car to visit the majestic Chin Swee Temple.. The clouds are very thick but the sun shines bright. It was cold as well..We went to all interesting places there and suddenly the haze came sweeping by and it becoming so cold! Luckily we managed to cover the whole place and capture beautiful photos :)

I just found this blog that is very interesting indeed and decided to join along.. As over here in Melaka, Sunday just started. I decided to go out in the garden with my camera and look for something fresh. It was raining last night and it's a clear and bright Sunday today. These photos were taken last year during the Earth Hour 2009. We were in the dark for 1 hour and we really enjoyed ourselves. At least we contributed something to our beloved earth, which is not so healthy lately.. As you can see, my cats were enjoying themselves, even my mom was doing her crochet :) No excuses, just do it! And now Earth Hour 2010 is here again here in Malaysia and everywhere around the world..Oh, please, for those who missed the chances of doing so last year, please do so this coming 27th March. It only take an hour to do the good deed. we need to fight the climate change that is in a worrying stage to the people, animals and the environment as well. Come March 27 from 2030 - 2130 please switch off your non-essential lights to save the deteriorating earth...

Public concern saves wildlife from cooking pot

SHAH ALAM: A year-old Malayan honey bear, a leopard cat and a slow loris were seized from a condominium in Desa Pandan, Kuala Lumpur, in a raid by the authorities on Friday.

A 25-year old woman who works in a hotel in Kuala Lumpur was also detained to have her statement recorded before she was released on bail until Dec 29 for the case to be mentioned in court.

The raid was conducted by a team from the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (Perhilitan) Selangor following a tip-off from a member of the public. The animals, which were kept in cages, are worth more than RM6,000.

State Perhilitan deputy director Mohammad Khairi Ahmad said there was a high demand for the Malayan honey bear, a protected animal, among exotic food lovers and restaurant owners.

"The woman claimed that the protected wildlife was a personal collection and not for sale.

"We are investigating her claim that the animals belonged to her cousin. We are now looking for a man, in his 30s, to assist in the investigations," he said at the state Perhilitan office, here, yesterday.

Khairi said they believed the animals had been trapped and sold by the Orang Asli in Negri Sembilan.

He said the woman could be charged under the Protection of Wildlife Act which provides for a maximum penalty of RM3,000 fine or a jail term of not more than three years or both on conviction.

This is Amir - my nephew. He's a 5 year old cheeky boy who loves camera very much. I compiled photos of him and came out with this. It really brighten up my days as he's far away in Penang and we only met once or twice a year..
