(New Straits Times) - BANTING: Nine pedigree dogs, belonging to the lawyer brothers from here, were put to sleep by Kuala Langat District Council officers yesterday.

Six Rottweilers, two Dalmations and a bulldog were put down by lethal tranquilisers at the poultry farm in Sungai Gadung, believed to the scene of a quadruple murder.

The officers were seen entering the farm at 8.15am and left about two hours later with the carcasses in a pick-up lorry.

According to sources, since the murders were uncovered, the hungry dogs which were left unattended became aggressive and attacked other animals in the farm, such as goats, ducks and chickens.

The source said police had told the district council to catch the dogs but the team despatched to the area decided to put the dogs down as they were aggressive.

The carcasses were taken to the Sungai Sedu landfill in Telok Datuk, near here, to be buried.

Selangor Perhilitan 'Rescue' Birds From Murder Location

BANTING, Sept 20 (Bernama) -- The Selangor Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) on Monday 'rescued' four peacocks, three Spotted Doves, three Indian Mynah birds and an Oriental Magpie Robin from a farm owned by the main suspect in the murder of cosmetics queen Datuk Sosilawati Lawiya and three others.

The farm is located near Ladang Gadong in Tanjung Sepat here.

Four Perhilitan officers led by Ahmad Sahrizan Mohd Nawawi took possession of the birds in an hour-long operation which began at 3.50pm.

Ahmad Sahrizan believed that the birds were under-fed as the area was monitored by the police to facilitate investigations (into the murders).

He said the purpose of their visit to the farm was to look after the welfare of the wildlife.

"These animals are not protected species but the department cares about the welfare of our wildlife," he said, adding that they became aware of the existence of the birds through news reports.

He said the birds would be placed at the Perhilitan office in Section 8, Shah Alam until a court order was obtained for further action.

Ok, the dogs were killed because they were hungry?!! That's the reason why.. That's it, you got hungry, we kill you, let us end your hunger.. How could they!! This is totally inhumane!! Like there's no other way to do it? They are hungry because they were not fed, so it's the dogs' fault? Come on!!

And the birds were under fed so their welfare need to be taken care of.. This is totally unfair!! It makes me cry every time I see those murdered dogs.. They don't deserve to die!! This is totally inhumane!!

Thank God it's weekend!! Working life had been so stressful in the past few weeks! I'm looking forward to weekend to arrive and it's finally here!! Thank God it's weekend!! :)

The weather is sunny and windy and I'm enjoying myself in the garden. Everyday I'm off to work at 8 am and arrived home at 7 pm, I practically live like a robot!! Simple thing like looking at the flowers makes my life happier :) These are rose and morning glory flower in my garden and it blooms beautifully!

Hibiscus

Hibiscus, or locally known as “bunga raya” is Malaysia’s national flower (the one with the 5 red petals). This pretty tropical plant is planted everywhere here in my country. We can see hibiscus in almost every household. It’s very easy to plant hibiscus in our tropical climate and the varieties of hibiscus are endless. What we always did was exchanging different type of hibiscus among the neighbours so that we can enjoy the varieties :) My family and I went for a vacation last April to Kuching, Sarawak and to our surprise we managed to visit a garden at the museum.. We took a stroll and came to realize that it was a hibiscus garden!! Just when I thought my mother plant endless varieties of hibiscus in our garden, this garden is even better!! It has hibiscus of many kinds. Even the one that I never thought even exist!! I’m in awe with the garden, I really do..Beautiful landscape, unique flowers with vibrant colours, it’s a must visit place when you are in Kuching!

Chilly Genting Highlands

My colleagues and I went to Genting Highlands for our weekend getaway and took a cable car to visit the majestic Chin Swee Temple.. The clouds are very thick but the sun shines bright. It was cold as well..We went to all interesting places there and suddenly the haze came sweeping by and it becoming so cold! Luckily we managed to cover the whole place and capture beautiful photos :)

These photos were taken last year during the Earth Hour 2009. We were in the dark for 1 hour and we really enjoyed ourselves. At least we contributed something to our beloved earth, which is not so healthy lately.. As you can see, my cats were enjoying themselves, even my mom was doing her crochet :) No excuses, just do it! And now Earth Hour 2010 is here again here in Malaysia and everywhere around the world..Oh, please, for those who missed the chances of doing so last year, please do so this coming 27th March. It only take an hour to do the good deed. we need to fight the climate change that is in a worrying stage to the people, animals and the environment as well. Come March 27 from 2030 - 2130 please switch off your non-essential lights to save the deteriorating earth...

Public concern saves wildlife from cooking pot

SHAH ALAM: A year-old Malayan honey bear, a leopard cat and a slow loris were seized from a condominium in Desa Pandan, Kuala Lumpur, in a raid by the authorities on Friday.

A 25-year old woman who works in a hotel in Kuala Lumpur was also detained to have her statement recorded before she was released on bail until Dec 29 for the case to be mentioned in court.

The raid was conducted by a team from the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (Perhilitan) Selangor following a tip-off from a member of the public. The animals, which were kept in cages, are worth more than RM6,000.

State Perhilitan deputy director Mohammad Khairi Ahmad said there was a high demand for the Malayan honey bear, a protected animal, among exotic food lovers and restaurant owners.

"The woman claimed that the protected wildlife was a personal collection and not for sale.

"We are investigating her claim that the animals belonged to her cousin. We are now looking for a man, in his 30s, to assist in the investigations," he said at the state Perhilitan office, here, yesterday.

Khairi said they believed the animals had been trapped and sold by the Orang Asli in Negri Sembilan.

He said the woman could be charged under the Protection of Wildlife Act which provides for a maximum penalty of RM3,000 fine or a jail term of not more than three years or both on conviction.

Well, sad to say that now left 2 kitties only..I guess they were too weak.. They love the warmth of the hot water bag and drinking the milk as well. They are still tiny, it really breaks my heart to see the 2 of them cuddling each other to keep warm.. I'm praying for them everyday...

I feed him fish the other day, he love it!

This dog had been around for quite some time around my working area..Poor thing, I'm worried about his safety. He's an active and happy dog, it's just that people don't understand it. I'll buy him food whenever I had the chance of meeting him. He likes to follow me but given the fact that I'm working with children will cause fear to others, right? I just have to shoo him away..
In this place where I'm living, unlicensed dog will be sent to the pound to be shot, scary, but true. Let's hope for the best for this happy canine..

WAD project in my class

Well, thank you for all the well wishers, I'm so thrilled! It's great to get to know friends out there who really care about the animals, be it the pet or the wild one.. In conjunction with World Animal Day (WAD) yesterday, I did another art project with my class. I asked them to make a pledge for all the animals in the world. There felt very sad about the cruelty being done to all those animals. I'm proud of them as even though I can't do much but at least I'm able to teach them about the importance of saving the animals and the need to love them. The younger generations nowadays have little knowledge about animals, be it pet or let alone the endangered species. Here are some of their artwork.. (Click on the photo for larger image)

I have 3 abandoned kittens at home which I hope will make it.

Poor Kitties:(

Guess what!! This box of litter was found in front of our house. The sad part was, it was raining heavily the night before, so when we found this box, the kittens inside were all soaking wet!! How could people do this! These kitten aged around 2 weeks (that's my guess) Whoever did this are heartless and cruel!! We brought them in and put them in a cage. As all my cats were fixed, there's not much we can help to calm them down.. I feed them milk with a syringe and keep them warm with thick cloth.. Unfortunately one of them (the yellow one) died 2 days ago.. Let us pray for their safety.. After all, we did try our best to save them.. I will never forgive whoever did this!!

LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- Patrick Swayze, whose hunky good looks and sympathetic performances in such films as "Dirty Dancing" and "Ghost" made him a romantic idol to millions, died Monday. He was 57.

Patrick Swayze's doctor said in March 2008 that Swayze was suffering from pancreatic cancer.

Swayze died of pancreatic cancer, his publicist, Annett Wolf, told CNN.

"Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months," Wolf said in a statement Monday.

Swayze's doctor, Dr. George Fisher, revealed in early March 2008 that Swayze was fighting the disease.

RIP Patrick Swayze!! I really love this man from the moment I watch him in Dirty Dancing!! A brilliant actor he was, he will be dearly missed...

Cats! My passion! Be it the pet or the tiger I love them all! This is one of my favourite photos of my fat cat Hiro Nakamura who currently weighs at 5 kg. He's one fat cat, he sleeps all day!!

Cool pose, huh!! This is what he do everyday, be it indoor or outdoor.. He suffered from Urinary Tract Disorder (UTI) recently, due to his weight and lack of activities. He needs at least 10 minutes play everyday, which is hard for both of us, me to initiate the move and him to respond to it:( We are working on it though, no worry. Slowly, but surely of course..
